Similar to Pin Oak, when young with a pyramidal shape that spreads to a more rounded form at maturity. A spectacular tree in the fall when the leaves change to a brilliant scarlet-red that are retained into the winter. The summer foliage is dark glossy green. Very adaptable, prefers a moist, well-drained soil.
